    Preferred position: Batsman

    George is an opening bat who has come up through the junior ranks. One of the more intelligent club members currently studying at and playing for Lancaster University. George is now frequenting the same pubs the club captain did 25 years before him.

    Preferred position: Bowler

    Pickers is another player who has come up though the youth set up, a game changing all rounder who can bowl with accuracy and bat solidly.

    Prycey has been playing cricket longer than anyone at the club and has played at the highest levels of amateur cricket before Joining Sparsholt at the turn of the century. A deceptive swing bowler his experience and reliability are a great addition to any side. Captained the second team for a number of seasons and has contributed significantly with the bat.

    Preferred position: Batsman

    DC , another Lancastrian in the club translates for Worthers. A solid and reliable batsmen for the second team who regularly plays key innings and keeps wicket when needed. A Tranmere rovers fan proving he really is a scouser at heart.

    Preferred position: Bowler

    Another product of the Sparsholt Junior set up albeit a number of years ago. Simon has played for all team within the club, a swing bowler,great fielder and hard hitting batsman with an exceptionally good eye. Can turn a game in a couple of overs and frustrate opposition bowlers.

    Greg son of Keith and brother of Alex , a solid all rounder who is capable of playing at any level within the club and has done. His medium pace is an asset to any attack as his his lower order batting.

    Haida is a swashbuckling batsmen and medium pace bowler for the twos. Leading wicket taker for the last three seasons Haida will be looking to make it four on the trot. Exceptional fielding has resulted in Haida achieving 3 direct hit run outs in one game when he couldn't bowl them out. his main objective for the 2016 season is to arrive at the ground before the start of play.

    Tom is one of the clubs promising youth set up. A right hand bat and medium quick bowler Tom was part of the Hampshire youth set up. A player with a lot of prospects who will be looking to score his maiden century in adult cricket in 2017.

    Nayan has come up through the junior section and took an impressive 5 for 6 in a first xi game against Fawley in the 2016 making him the first of his peer group to get on the honours board. A medium quick bowler and solid batsman Nayan will be pushing for more premier league wickets this season.

    Known as JV or Sekov Noj , Jon is one of the last senior cricketers to hail from the village. A medium quick bowler and wicket taker, hard hitting batsmen who can bat anywhere in the order. Captained the midweek to cup and division finals, proving himself to be a great tosser, losing only 2 of 12 in the season. Part of the Caddyshack ground crew Jon also looks after the outfield and is assistant rodent catcher.

    Nick is a promising junior who has over the last two season broken into the first team. Learning his trade as an off spinner and very useful batsman. Nick has been playing in the same side as his father Mike.

    Senior pro Mike can often be seen warming up with a quick cigarette before taking the field. A South African with a competitive spirit bowls accurate off spin and is a key big hitter down the order. Father of promising youngster Nick.

    Slightly chubby cycling enthusiastic only in the team to make up the numbers and balance the average age of the team ;-) Really only playing to make Saturday afternoons more enjoyable than just being taxi driver for Will. Enjoy opening the batting and trying to see off the opening bowlers (not often successful!).

    Current New Chairman for 2017 having captained the first team from 2013 to 2016.Of Lancastrian heritage playing cricket in the Palace Shield and then Central Lancashire League ,before moving to Winchester KS in the mid 90's joining Sparsholt 10 years ago. Supports Morecambe FC. Has a habit of quoting lyrics from folk punk bands no one else has heard of. Tries to bridge the gap between the old traditionalists and the modern age of cricket.

    Another Lancastrian from Preston Jamie joined Sparsholt in 2016. A swashbuckling batsman with his own stylish Preston slog talks almost as much rubbish as the chairman. An ex footballer who runs around like billy whizz from the beano (an old comic for those who haven't heard of the beano )

    Dan was introduced to the club as Drew and immediately earned the nickname Dandrew as its about as ridiculous as his partner in crime boyband hair style. Dan joined from sparsholt having played for Bournemouth Uni and Old Basing. A medium pace bowler and dynamic fielder.

    Joined Sparsholt for the 2017 season and quickly earned the nickname boyband for his youthful looks and over use of hair products. A leg spinner turned genuine all-rounder, currently studying at Bournemouth University and a DJ in his spare time although he needs some education in his knowledge of bands from the 80's.

    Togs joined Sparsholt in the 2013 season and immediately showed his ability scoring 152 in the village knockout one of two centuries for the season. Now fully recovered from a shoulder injury Stu is a key batsman in the top order. Like many prolific run scorers he has an innate ability to count to 5 then take a quick single.
